Nona hendryx transformation

Between 19, Hendryx worked with Keith Richards, Arthur Baker, Laurie Anderson, Brian Eno, and Nile Rodgers among others - a whirl of cocktail parties designed to take her into hinterlands farthest away from R&B. This information matters because Patti LaBelle went on to record a number one R&B and pop hit in the summer of ’86 called “On Your Own” while Hendryx couldn’t muster anything other than a top sixty placing on the Hot 100 chart a year later.

Years later I learned that she was part of a trio called LaBelle, writing many of their songs. Reading the credits on the tape version I bought in the summer of ’92 I thought she was related to Jimi.
